Cosmetic Alert!

Did you know that most cosmetic products contain something called nano-particles? And did you also know that the technology behind them are hidden from you? Some of these nano-particles are so dangerous, in fact, in fact that they are becoming known as “universal asbestos”.
There isn’t any labeling required to warn the public about the dangers. Nano-particles readily penetrate the skin, can invade underlying blood vessels, get into the general blood stream and product toxic effects because they are so tiny and easily absorbed. There is evidence that some of the side effects include toxic effects on the brain, degenerative disorders in the brain and nerve damage.
These products may also contain certain other toxic ingredients including:
Ethylene oxide (used for medical sterilization): associated with breast cancer incidence;
Dioxane (solvent): suspected of causing damage to the central nervous system, liver and kidneys;
Nitrosamines (used in pesticides): can cause cancers in a wide variety of animal species;
Formaldehyde (embalming agent and used in construction materials): nosebleeds, persistent headaches as well as asthma and bronchitis;
Acrylamide (decomposes non-thermally to form ammonia): found in baked and fried starchy foods, such as potato chips, breads and cookies and can cause - relationship between dietary intake of acrylamide and colorectal cancer.
These are all known carinogens and should not be applied to your skin. Check the labels before buying any skin care products.

Spring Cleaning for Skin Care
Since spring is all about renewal, why not let this season inspire your daily skin care regimen? Skin has a life cycle and often cells close to the surface die and need to be removed to reveal a smoother, softer surface. The following is a couple of ideas to help you achieve glowing skin that is vibrant and springlike.
Exfoliate your face using a natural scrub. Check the labels for ingredients that are natural and organic to better take care of your skin.
Using a natural-bristle body brush daily is a great way to get your skin glowing. Starting with your hands, move to the rest of the body using firm strokes. Make sure you skip the sensitive areas of your body such as your breasts and hands. You will want to do your skin brushing before you take a bath or shower. The shower or bath will help to gently wash away the dead skin cells that the brushing has removed and you will end up with soft, smooth skin. For more information and to see how to do dry skin brushing, see the video below.
One thing to remember now that spring is here is to put on your sunscreen before going outside. Although the Vitamin D that the sun provides is great for our bodies, too much can be harmful due to the UV rays. Make sure you find a sunscreen with natural ingredients that will help take care of your skin.
Make You Own Skin Exfoliant
You don't have to buy an expensive exfoliant at the skin care counter. Instead using a few ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen, make your own natural and inexpensive skin exfoliant.
You can use this skin exfoliant all over your body.
Mix 2 cups of sea salt into 3/4 cup of organic olive oil. You can add a few drops of your favorite essential oil if you like. A couple of good choices are lavender or rose. Apply about 1/2 cup of the mixture to dampened skin and gently massage using a circular motion with your palm. Rinse with warm water and a clean, soft face cloth. Add a light moisturizer or raw organic coconut butter/oil and you'll feel fresh and invigorated.
For a skin exfoliant for your face, substitute organic lemon juice for the olive oil.
Use on a regular basis, a minimum of once a week and you will have youthful, vibrant skin.
