My Blackberry is Not Working

The BlackBerry which was introduced in 1999 has become the smartphone of choice for a lot of business people. It not only supports e-mail but also can be used as a cellphone, for text messaging, internet faxing, web browsing and other wireless information services.

The BlackBerry was originally marketed for e-mail with a quality keyboard for "thumbing" which optimizes using your thumbs only for typing. The first BlackBerry had a wheel mounted on the right side for scrolling through the menu. This was replaced by the "trackball"when the Pearl series were introduced which would allow for four way scrolling. When the Curve series came it out it was changed to the optical trackpad.

In August 2010, the BlackBerry Torch was introduced. It has become a favorite with many users.

The BlackBerry is a safe device due to its encryption features and therefore suitable for many government agencies. The British police for example, now carry the BlackBerry in order to help reduce public spending as their people can perform desk work directly on their mobile devices.

President Obama made the BlackBerry popular when he used it extensively during his 2008 presidential campaign. He has also insisted that he continue to using it while in office which makes him the first sitting president to use mobile email.
